How to use blush to complement your face.
Things You’ll Need:
- BLUSH BRUSH
- BLUSH
Like the saying goes "PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT". I promise that once you perfect it your eyes will shine and your face will beam. With a few simple suggestions I know that you will be as beautiful as you were meant to be!
1.PICKING OUT THE RIGHT COLOR:
*You want to make sure that your shade of blush you select is on the same tonal level as your foundation.
*I like to follow the rules of the color families:
cool colors: blue purples greens pinks
warm colors: red orange yellow
If you think of it this way it might make it easier:
cool colors stay with cool colors: purple shadow + pink blush + mauve lip
warm colors stay with warm colors: brown shadow +orange blush +orange lip
IF YOU INTER MIX WARM WITH COOL IT IS VERY UNBALANCING.
Something else to consider when it comes to skin tones:
FAIR Skin: Beige, pink shades of blush complement the skin.
YELLOW SKIN: warm brown shades of blush complement the skin.
DARKER SKIN: plum, bronze shades of blush complement the skin.
GOLDEN OR OLIVE: stay with warm shades of blush to complement the skin.
HINT: IF COLOR IS TO DEEP OR INTENSE ON FAIR SKIN, IT CAN WASH YOU OUT AND LOOK AS IF ALL YOU HAVE IS CHEEKS.
IF COLOR IS NOT DEEP ENOUGH OR INTENSE ENOUGH ON DARKER SKIN,IT
WILL DISAPEAR. AS IF YOU HAD NO CHEEKS AT ALL.
2. Knowing where to place your blush:
TRY THESE SIMPLE LITTLE TRICKS:
**Looking in the mirror, smile and you will see the apple of your cheeks.
As you smile place your fingers on your cheeks and feel the roundness of them(the apple). This is where you would start your application of your blush.
Another thing to remember that will help for proper placement is the iris of your eye. Your blush placement should not go past the middle of your iris.(SEE DIAGRAM).
**Looking in the mirror, suck in your cheeks(fish lips)and with your fingers place them in the indentation that is made by the sucking.
You should feel the lower part of your cheek bone. Your blush should not go below this bone.(SEE DIAGRAM)use your nose as a guide also, never let the blush go below it.
3. Using the correct amount is just as important as where your place blush.
There is a couple of things you need to do to make proper application of the blush on your cheeks.
Have you ever heard the saying "A MASTER IS AS GOOD AS HIS TOOLS"? I am a firm believer in it.
If you a using one of those little blush brushes that usually comes with your blush THROW IT AWAY!!! You cannot get the results that you need with a tiny little brush. A blush brush that is in medium size will do you wonders. This brush works well with your pressed powder blush or your loose.
Step5
If you are using a loose powder blush, place just the very tips of the brush into the container. Tip the brush up and on a hard surface tap the end of the brush a couple of times. What this will do is it will cause the blush powder to actually get into the brush hair fibers instead of the powder sitting directly on the ends of the fibers.Use this same technique with your pressed blush.
REMEMBER THIS:
If you were to put the brush to your face with the blush just sitting on the end you will end up with most of the product sitting where contact was made. It will be very hard than to blend your blush.
Look at the coverage and see if you think it is concentrated enough. If it is not you should have enough product left on the brush for a second application.
Repeat on the other side and do the same.
- KEEP PRACTICING!!
- KEEP YOUR BRUSHES FREE FROM BACTERIA AND DIRT: YOU CAN PURCHASE A COSMETIC BRUSH CLEANER OR FOR LESS COST, WASH THEM WITH HAIR SHAMPOO AND USE HAIR CONDITIONER TO KEEP THE BRISTLES SOFT.
- YOU CAN LET THEM AIR DRY OR JUST LIKE THE HAIR ON OUR HEADS,BLOW DRY THEM.
